Progress report...

The guest house is coming along... We received the water heater through FedEx on Friday, and I got a little insulation up while Marvin framed in the bathroom over the weekend...
Most of the electrical was done last week... So this week I've been working on a quilt top....
All the parts are made and this is what I have completed so far...
It's a Missouri Star Quilt Co. Design that I believe is called Sunny Skies, I think...😉

Awesome Day!

I finished Laura's baby quilt just in time... She's scheduled for delivery tomorrow! I think it came out pretty cute!
The grey on the pink material is kitties...
I only outlined everything, which still takes quite a bit of time and more than secures everything!
The next thing that happened was totally awesome! The building on skids that we bought last week was delivered... What a cool process!
The yellow and brown one on the back of the trailer is ours!
Their trailer is an amazing piece of equipment that made
getting the building onto the ground look easy!

From this, to this...
In a matter of moments! Now, how do they get it out of the street?
By something called a mule!
Rotating the back end onto the yard...
Pulling it back into the slot...
Lining it up straight to the house front and side...and property line!
A very short time later...
Leveled and ready for our end of the work... Electricity
will come first!
God is good... And hopefully, soon our guests will be
more comfortable when they visit!

Guest House

Marvin and I have been talking ever since we moved here in Daddy's old house that we need a guest house...(our house has only 1 bedroom) The house we planned to use that's on the property is in bad enough shape that we feel it's better use is to be a storage building and a place for Marvin to work on wiring sewing machines... I also have my ceramic kiln, glass torch and my commercial leather machine in there...so it's easier to buy another house and fix it up than to bring that one up to a livable condition... We looked at cabins on skids in Abilene Bangs, Santa Anna, and Early and finally decided this one would suite the site we'd picked to a tee...it's an empty shell right now, but we have plans... I think it's kinda cute too!
It's 12'x24' with a 4' porch across the front, making the cabin portion 12'x20'. We'll have to put a bathroom in it, wiring, insulation ...we'll, take a look inside...
Yep, bare studs... But we know what to do with that! It may take some time, but it will get finished!
Color me happy! We paid for it today, and they haven't called to let me know when they can deliver it yet... But I'm sitting on go!
And This is my Happy Valentines Day from my Sweetheart! Is he great or what!?!?
It's going to be awesome on making t shirt quilts!!!

Quilts...

After 3 weeks of working on it, I finished the Texas Tech t shirt quilt for my friend Maria. She's thrilled!!!
I really love how it turned out!
So this one was finished on January 30, and I put the top my friend, Vicki, made for her friend on the quilting machine this morning and 12 hours later took it off the machine tonight... Tired, but happy with it.... The V in the middle of Texas stands for the friends last name...
Here are some close ups of the quilting. I hope it shows up...
All in all, a very good start for 2016!!!! I have another quilt top sitting on the desk to quilt for another friend, and have plans to pick up another one at quilting group tomorrow... All is good!!!! 😄
