Big Spring Band T Shirt Quilt

Ever since I took Craftsy's class The Ultimate T Shirt Quilt, by Winnie Fleming, I've been telling people that I would be happy to make a t shirt quilt for them... So far, I've only had one taker of the offer, my son, Sam. Sam is a band director by profession and brought me a whole bag of t shirts in short order after I offered! So... I'd like to compare the t shirt quilt that I made just prior to taking the class and put it up against the yet unquilted top that is ready to go into the longarm now...let's see how they stack up.
Nice... Now the one I just finished...
The top I just finished isn't as big as the first one, but it also doesn't have as many shirt squares ... the first one was 32 shirt squares if I remember... This one about 12-13 ... As you can tell I also added about 5 or so logo smaller blocks... Is one better or nicer than the other? Probably not... But the techniques that I learned from the Craftsy class made the whole process easier by breaking down into components what had been a bit overwhelming in the first one. Will I be willing to do more? Yep!  Do I feel more capable now? Absolutely.

Project Linus

Last year at Quilt Plano, I accepted a challenge to complete a quilt kit for children in need of comfort... I loved doing it so much that I decided this year to accept the challenge of making two! I'm pleased to announce they are both completed. I plan to take them with me and drop them off when I go back to McKinney this next week for Linda V. Taylor's Star Gazing workshop...
And this is a photo of what I'll learn in my workshop...
